The Great Artists Of The Defacement Movement 2

Here’s another piece from the 1960’s, carefully thought out yet quickly executed. Both reflecting the Pop-Art movement of the period and showing a distinct originality, this is a truly a one-of-a-kind.

The Great Artists Of The Defacement Movement 1

Working at a place full of all the stuff your mom sold us while you were away at college or “finding yourself” can have a lot of unexpected surprises. For example I recently found a box of original art pages in a pile of other boxes. That was super-cool and all but my favorite thing to find is defaced items. Cards, comics, magazines, etc. that some bored or smart-assed kid decided to improve. Usually anonymous, it’s time someone shed light on some of the greats.

Great for shooting Womp Rats in the Snake River Canyon

I found this beat up Kenner X-Wing in our warehouse and, rather than throw it in the trash where the boss would only find it and retrieve it thinking that “someone” “somewhere” is looking for that exact thing and we should be the ones to provide it, I decided to make something out of it. I repainted it and made some custom decals. So here it is, The Luke Skywalker X-W Sky-Wing:
